Boone County’s average wage now exceeds average wage in Cole County, REDI says

The average wage in Boone County is now about $49,000, according to Regional Economic Development Incorporated (REDI). That’s about $23 per hour. REDI officials discussed the issue at their recent board meeting in downtown Columbia, noting it’s the first time the average wage in Boone is higher than in Cole County.

Two people shot in downtown Columbia this weekend

Columbia Police are still looking for the suspect or suspects who shot two people this weekend on North Fifth Street downtown. The incident happened at about 2:30 Saturday morning.
