There has been a confirmed case in Missouri.
The CDC reports an E-Coli outbreak has been linked with chopped romaine lettuce grown out of the Yuma, Arizona area. At this time, they can’t pinpoint it to a specific grower, brand, or supplier, but they are recommending you throw out all of your romaine lettuce. If you’re not sure if it’s romaine, or if you ate it and didn’t get sick, you still need to chuck it.
Reports from the CDC say roughly 35 people have been diagnosed with E-Coli over 11 different states. Of the thirty-five, twenty-two have been hospitalized, and three of those have developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a type of kidney failure.
