You can expect heavier-than-normal traffic this afternoon and evening and all day tomorrow, due to the University of Missouri’s winter commencement ceremonies.
Mizzou says 1,780 students will earn more than 1,900 degrees this weekend, with some students receiving more than one degree. UM System President Dr. Mun Choi says the MU community is proud of what the graduates have accomplished. President Choi says 95 percent of new Mizzou alumni find a career, continue their studies, begin military service or volunteer within six months of graduation.
More than 1,400 of the degrees are bachelor’s degrees, with 410 being master’s degrees and 78 doctoral degrees. Five ceremonies are planned for this afternoon and this evening in Columbia, with the first being the College of Arts and Science graduation at 1 pm at the Hearnes Center. Ceremonies will take place all day tomorrow, with the ROTC commissioning of officers tomorrow and Sunday.
Mizzou’s graduates represent 43 states and 24 countries.
