Columbia Police say the victim who was shot Monday night near Douglass Park suffered life-threatening injuries. Detectives say the victim was shot at about 8:20 p.m., in the 400 block of North Providence Road. Columbia Police say 40-year-old Jemikia Jordan has been arrested on several counts. Formal charges have not been filed yet. The investigation continues.

Boone County health officials reported 79 new COVID cases on Friday. The health department says there are currently 617 active COVID cases, with 117 COVID patients hospitalized.
