Columbia Police have captured a convicted felon charged with shooting and killing a three-year-old child Sunday afternoon.
CPD investigators located 28-year-old Larry Brownlee Jr. Monday afternoon in Columbia. Boone County prosecutor Roger Johnson tells our news partner KMIZ that Brownlee is charged with second degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Brownlee is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in Boone County Circuit Court, via video from the jail. He’s being held without bond in the Boone County jail, according to the Sheriff’s department website.
Columbia Police say the three-year-old was shot in the torso Sunday afternoon, and later died at an area hospital.
