Missouri state troopers are seeking criminal charges against a Harrisburg man for this weekend’s horrific deadly crash on Route J, a crash that killed passenger Corry Crowley.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says the incident happened early Saturday at about 12:20 am on Route J, north of Crane road. Troopers say the driver of a GMC Sierra, 29-year-old David Williams of Harrisburg, traveled off the right side of the road before overcorrecting and traveling off the left side of the road.
Troopers say Williams’ vehicle struck a fence and overturned, ejecting both Williams and Crowley. Neither man was wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report. Crowley, a Harrisburg resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers arrested Williams at University Hospital, where he’s being treated for serious injuries. They’re seeking a criminal charge of DWI death of another in the case. The Boone County prosecutor’s office will decide whether charges are filed.
