Saturday is the highly-anticipated grand opening of Columbia’s new Toptracer golf facility at Midway Golf and Games.
The multi-level facility has been accepting walk-ins this week. Midway Golf and Games general manager Taylor Burks, a former Boone County clerk, tells 939 the Eagle that he’s hearing great feedback.
“A number of people have said that they don’t have to go to Chesterfield or Overland Park, Kansas to see Topgolf. They’re able to do it right here in mid-Missouri now,” Burks says.
Tomorrow’s grand opening is from 10 am to 10 pm and includes a fireworks display at 9:15 pm. Mr. Burks says the new Toptracer facility will draw golfers and families from across mid-Missouri. He wants to see Midway Golf and Games be mid-Missouri’s premier family fun destination.
“We get guests all the time from Fayette, Boonville, as you know Sedalia and Marshall. Over in Mexico, Moberly. These are places that they’ll travel a little bit for travel or attractions and that’s what we’ve created,” Burks tells 939 the Eagle.
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz will host his countdown to kickoff event to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Missouri tomorrow at 5:30 pm in the banquet room.
